GENOVESE CASTLE
The most important historic building of the environment is Genovese Castle. Although there is no solid information, it is thought that the Genovese built the castle. It is now used as a recreational area. Genovese Castle was restored and rectified by the Ottomans and today we can see only one part of the entry wall from the castle. Thanks to the beaches to its west and to its east and the tea gardens around it, the castle never feels lonely. It is a stone structure built on a promontory. All the year round it has visitors. And if you want to see the beauty sunset you can go there at nightfall.

FAKILLI CAVE
Fakıllı Cave has a long entrance tunnel, more than one meter inside the spectacular stalactites and stalagmites have a gallery…At the entrance of the cave there is an electric switch that puts the lights on in the cave. You have to switch it on yourself, because there are no attendants looking after the cave. About 15 meters after the entrance you are in the cave.


KÖROĞLU BEACH
Koroğlu is the name given to the beach about 7 kilometers from Akçakoca on the road to Eregli at a place called Çayağzı, Kumpınar in front of the village of Akkaya.The sea here is shallow too and right behind the beach a lush forest extends inland.

KARABURUN VILLAGE
Main attractive features of the Karaburun village are the sand beaches stretching as far as the eye can see, camping sites running parallel to these beaches, garden restaurants that offer good food for modest prices, and picnic areas under the shades of huge trees.

CUMAYERI PICNIC SQUARE
Cumayeri Picnic Square is value of the see. It is 3 km north far from the city center. You can reach there among tradational houses and hazelnut gardens.It is near watercourse and shadow the plane tree. Also there is ancient turkish bath monuments and Mehmet Ağa mosque grave.

MELENAĞZI VILLAGE
Melenağzı Village 13km far from the city center and their people earn their bread from fisheries. Melenağzı is the place where the Melen stream flows into the sea. Also Melen is natural seaport for fishing boats.
